We probably win the prize for the biggest pumpkin in the neighborhood this Halloween. They will be a nice addition to our porch tonight.
I hope everyone has a happy Halloween!!!

October 27 we hiked a narrow slot canyon in Maple Canyon. It wasn't the prettiest canyon for pictures, but Nathan said it was the second best hike he had ever been on. The best in his book was the Black Box. What made it great was it's relative ease for hiking. When you are carrying one of the hikers on your back all the way, ease of hiking becomes important. We ate on the way down. We ate when we got there and we ate when we got back from the hike thanks to Mack and Kaye's preparation. Nathan and I brought peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and a bottle of water and thought that would be sufficient, but enjoyed the feast. The boys got to do a little rock climbing with a safety rope and that made it a great trip for them. You know the kids had fun when they were asking when they could do it again.

We had a great time at the Pumpkin Party. I hope the kids had as much fun as the adults! We appreciate the opportunity to spend time with these special kids and see the excitement and enthusiasm they have for life. You can see the rest of the pictures at the following link

Diane and I spent a glorious long weekend in Durango at the peak of the fall color. It was breath taking when the sun came out and we couldn't stop taking pictures. I have included a few of them here to whet your appetite, but have included additional pictures at the following link: http://picasaweb.google.com/billgrubbs1/DurangoFall2007

Enjoy and I hope some of you will join us next year to see the beauty for yourself. It is worth the trip!
