October 27 we hiked a narrow slot canyon in Maple Canyon. It wasn't the prettiest canyon for pictures, but Nathan said it was the second best hike he had ever been on. The best in his book was the Black Box. What made it great was it's relative ease for hiking. When you are carrying one of the hikers on your back all the way, ease of hiking becomes important. We ate on the way down. We ate when we got there and we ate when we got back from the hike thanks to Mack and Kaye's preparation. Nathan and I brought peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and a bottle of water and thought that would be sufficient, but enjoyed the feast. The boys got to do a little rock climbing with a safety rope and that made it a great trip for them. You know the kids had fun when they were asking when they could do it again.
