Vacation in Orlando, Florida

On the spur of the moment, we decided to go to Orlando and spend a week with Diane's sister Julie and Eric Peterson who live in Orlando, Florida. We spent yesterday at the  NASA Space Center in Fort Lauderdale. It was quite amazing to see the size of the rockets and especially the shuttle. I took some pictures for all to see.

This place is quite different from the hot and arid desert climate of Utah. It rains every day. It doesn't just sprinkle a little, but it rains in buckets. The soil is all sand and it just soaks right through. The flowers are beautiful and everything is green as can be. The picture is an example of what the area looks like in their gated neighborhood.

They have a pool and hot tub in the back yard and I have been going swimming just about every day. 

I have also worked out on their stationary bike and total gym and am very sore.

Eric says the alligators are not dangerous, but I don't plan to go wading or swimming in any of the many small ponds or pools. This is a picture of one I took on a golf course close by.
